This personal project, created between 2022 and 2023 in my free time alongside my studies, was a major learning experience in environment art and technical workflows. As a self-taught endeavor, it allowed me to push my skills in modeling, texturing, and optimization for real-time rendering. Under Unreal Engine 4.25/4.27 SDK.
I recreated the Pegasus Bridge as it stood in 1944, along with key surrounding landmarks such as Café Gondrée and La Chaumière, for the Squad 44: Chapter Richelieu mod. These locations played a critical role in the early hours of D-Day during Operation Deadstick, when the 6th British Airborne Division, led by Major John Howard, secured the bridges of Bénouville and Ranville to support the Allied landings.
From high-poly to game-ready assets, I focused on historical accuracy, modular workflows, and performance optimization, ensuring the assets fit seamlessly into a large-scale multiplayer environment. Additionally, I created various props and environmental assets to enhance the atmosphere and storytelling of the scene.
This project was a deep dive into technical art challenges, improving my understanding of shader creation, material optimization, and asset integration into a game engine. It strengthened my expertise in environment art while refining my problem-solving and workflow efficiency in a real-time production setting.
